Innovation & CPD: Leading the Way

At Maritime we believe that a great start in life for every child begins with a great teacher. We invest in our staff so they can stay ahead of the curve and deliver the very best for your child.

How it Works

  • The Fairness Factor: We are a learning Trust. We provide all our staff with high-quality, research-led training at no cost, ensuring that every child in every Maritime school is taught by an expert.

  • The Long-Term Commitment: We support our staff from their first day as a trainee to their roles as Headteachers, ensuring your child benefits from educators who are constantly growing and improving.

 

Staying Ahead of the Curve

  • Our professional learning networks (PLN’s) are a collaborative driver to working across the Trust with a range of experts to share best practice. We have an extensive range of learning resources for staff created by these experts within our Trust and ERT team, and also access to wider platforms such as The National College.

  • We created, Maritime Bites; these are "bite-sized" digital modules to help our staff master new skills quickly. This "little and often" approach to learning keeps our teachers inspired and energised and follows research evidence that spaced learning and a chance to implement, review and amend means we make sure provision is right for every child.

  • The Maritime Podcast, The Learning collective was developed for our staff to listen to and contribute toward to  share the best ideas from across our schools, ensuring we are always bringing the latest and best thinking into your child’s classroom.

  • We also bring all our staff together during inset days for collaborative professional development. Our MEC is our annual Maritime education conference where we deliver keynote speeches and a range of workshops to support and develop staff to be the very best ( MEC images and video added?)

  • Horizon Scanning: We don’t just follow trends; we look at the latest educational research (such as the EEF) and "Trial Before We Buy" to ensure every new strategy actually helps our children succeed.
